Fertility & Women's Health

In today’s world, couples are facing a range of challenges when it comes to fertility, emanating from factors such as lifestyle, stress, medical conditions, vaccinations, and age. Whether the issues lie with you or spouse factors, or a combination of both, the journey to conception can be an emotional and physical rollercoaster. Traditional Chinese Medicine has been sustaining women for over three thousand years. At 360, we specialize in comprehensive therapy with principles of holistic Functional Medicine folded into our approaches that offer a custom solution for you – a plan that finds the root issues and not just your symptoms.

Women’s Health is not just about the physical but the mental and emotional well-being of the body as a whole. Because of the complexities of the woman’s reproductive system, particular care needs to be placed regarding the health services you choose to maintain total body wellness. I believe all women could benefit from seeing a Functional Medicine practitioner who incorporates Acupuncture, Chinese herbal Medicine, nutrition, and exercise into their practice. Our natural and less invasive healing approaches and techniques are effective across the full range of women’s health issues. Our personalized strategy has resulted in significant health improvements for our female clients.

Womens Health

This is one of the most rewarding areas in my practice. We treat women at every phase of life. For example, we help teens suffering from painful periods to women undergoing early and late menopause. If menopause happens before 40, it is considered early menopause. If you are showing signs of early menopause and still want to have children, it is especially important to come see us now. Acupuncture can help you regulate hormonal conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis. And don’t forget “Hot Flashes”, lack of sleep, night sweats or insomnia. And what about mood swings, including depression and irritability that likely leads to disruption in sleep and decreased interest in sexual intercourse. Vaginal dryness, can make the vagina more prone to infections and cause pain during sexual intercourse.  Urinary tract changes can lead to an increased risk of urinary tract infections and weight gain, particularly in the stomach area. The benefits of Acupuncture, herbs and the right supplemental nutrition are truly pervasive. But the one-size-fits-all approach to managing these symptoms is truly a travesty of western medicine approaches.

Fertility & Pregnancy

Have you been trying to conceive for a while or thinking about having kids? Whether you’re just starting your journey or have been trying for some time, we can help most women build a comprehensive fertility plan that is customized just for you.

Consulting with Dr. Jasmine will yield a thousand things a woman or couple can or “should” do to get pregnant. All the intertwined details of anatomy and dynamic physiology about conception are complex and powerful. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when we look at each point separate from the big picture. Chinese Medicine’s elaborateness comes from standing back to look at the entire picture to understand where your body needs the most support.

After a thorough evaluation, we will provide a plan tailored to your body and your history. Your treatment plan will include Acupuncture, herbal – nutritional therapy, and lifestyle recommendations. Patients who need more comprehensive care will also receive stool testing and detox protocols.

Couples seeking fertility support come to our clinic at different points in their journey. Some arrive before consulting a gynecologist. Others come after conferring with their gynecologist before seeing a specialist at an IVF clinic. We have over 47 years of combined experience in reproductive health and collaborating with many western specialists, and we know when to build a treatment plan with Chinese Medicine alone and when to refer to other providers. Dr. Jasmine is not just a board-certified Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Functional Medical specialist, but she has two Ph.D.s.

Yes, pregnancy to postpartum Acupuncture is safe in every trimester. From miscarriage prevention to labor support, we are here for you. We can help you balance hormones, ease anxiety and get the milk supply flowing once your baby is here.

Stress & Your Fertility

Stress can have a significant impact on both male and female fertility. It can also be a detriment to having a successful IVF cycle. Stress leads to reduced blood flow to specific parts of the body and can quickly shift blood away from “non-essential organs” during times of stress. Since your ovaries are not essential for “fight or flight,” reduced blood flow can mean the ovaries are not nourished with enough blood and nutrients and could reduce egg quality.

The nervous system fortifies the body for fight or flight events and is frequently hyper-mobilized when we are under stress. Long-term stress causes certain hormones, such as cortisol, to become over-secreted and creates an unhealthy environment in our bodies. Furthermore, long-term stress can also lead to adrenal fatigue, which can quickly exhaust the kidneys resulting in reduced fertility in both men and women. Acupuncture stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which will calm and balance the sympathetic system. Stress can also lower your libido while trying to conceive, and the added pressure of performing during a specific fertile window can significantly impact the male libido. We use Acupuncture and Chinese herbs to improve libido for both partners.

The bottom line is stress has a stagnating and delaying effect on the body. Because stress creates stagnation, it can lead to hindered ovulation and delayed menstruation, impacting your fertile window and leading to much more painful periods. In fact, stagnation plays a massive role in many health issues that go far beyond fertility.

Health & Wellness

Are you burned out? Do you really want to get to the bottom of your chronic health issues? Incorporating both Chinese Medicine and Functional Medicine, at 360, we firmly believe that digestive problems, autoimmune conditions, are critical to solving long-term health issues.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is likely the world’s oldest holistic medical system. Acupuncture is only one modality within this system – it is not a stand-alone system. Chinese Medicine has grown over thousands of years, resulting in a continual critical thinking process. It is an analytical body of knowledge that only comprehends symptoms related to the whole individual, making it a “holistic” system. Instead of chasing individual symptoms, this holistic system looks for the connections among seemingly unrelated symptoms, hence understanding a patient’s whole mind and body landscape.

Chinese Medical practitioners have been treating everything from neurological issues, pain, digestive disorders, asthma, infertility, and more for a very long time. The soundness of its system of Medicine is how the body and mind are regarded through a sophisticated yet simple lens.
