I recently had a pleasurable challenge - pack enough yarn to last 4 weeks in a carry-on bag (along with all my other necessities) and design something suitable for knitting in a warm climate. This fingering weight wrap skirt didn’t take up too much room in my bag, kept me entertained for the majority of my trip and could even be put in to service as a bathing suit cover up at the pool.

I imagine the skirt could be a cute wrap in a dance studio, too.
The lace pattern looks like rows of butterflies.

Select the skirt size based on your hip measurement without ease; with pleats the waistband is 4”/10cm less than the fullest measurement and will sit below your waistline.

Materials:
Yarn: Polka Dot Sheep PDS Tenderfoot 80/20, 80% merino / 20% nylon (polyamide) in “Glacier Lake”. Two - three 400 yards (366 m) / (3.53 oz) 100 gram skeins. See # of skeins in highlighted cells of chart pictured to the left.

Tools:
US 2(2.75 mm) circular needle long enough to accommodate hip measurement stitches (see chart above); US 2(2.75 mm) dpns, 2 Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle.
