The girl named Shanti (Peace) could not fulfill her desire to raise a pigeon.
The girl's name is Shanti. Father - mother's very dear daughter.
Suddenly one day the hobby of Shanti is to raise pigeons. But even though the pigeon is a financial bird, the girl Shanti wants to keep the pigeon only to satisfy her desires.
So Shanti's father brought a male pigeon for Shanti. So Shanti is happy to have a pigeon.
A few days later, the dove of Shanti became a pet. When it is taken out of the small cage, the pigeon eats rice and enters the cage again.
A few more days later, Shanti saw the pigeon swell its neck and throat like a spinning wheel, once to the right, another time to the left, turning left and right.
Seeing that, Shanti got a lot of fun and jumped up clapping her hands.
Thus several days passed.
Suddenly another day Shanti saw, a female pigeon is coming and chatting with her pigeon.
Yes, chatting. They eat together in the yard and sit on the branches of trees and make a croaking noise. It's as if they're chatting and exchanging ideas.
The parents of Shanti are also very happy to see this.
The female pigeon chats with the pigeon of Shanti all day and goes somewhere before evening. Seeing this, Shanti's aunty said, "The female pigeon will one day be a pet of Shanti."
One day the female pigeon wandered around the yard with the pigeon of Shanti all day.
But in the evening the female pigeon flew the pigeon with the pigeon of Shanti. They flew away and crossed the trees.
What a cry of Shanti to see it. Then Shanti's parents said, "Tomorrow the two of them will fly back again."
But the next day did not come. Then Shanti's aunty said, "Not today, they will definitely come back tomorrow." But they did not come.
Many days went by like this. By that time Shanti's aunt also got married. But the pigeon of Shanti did not return.

শান্তি নামের মেয়েটা কবুতর পোষে মনের সাধ মেটাতে পারেনি।
মেয়েটার নাম শান্তি। বাবা - মায়ের খুব আদরের মেয়ে।
হঠাৎ করে একদিন শান্তির শখ হল কবুতর পোষবে। কিন্তু কবুতর অর্থকরী পাখি হলেও শান্তি মেয়েটা শুধু মনের সাধ মেটাতেই কবুতর পোষতে চায়।
তাই শান্তির বাবা শান্তির জন্য একটা পুরুষ কবুতর নিয়ে এল। কবুতর পেয়ে শান্তির কী যে খুশি লাগছে।
কিছুদিন পরেই শান্তির কবুতরটা পোষ মানল। ছোট খাঁচা থেকে বের করে দিলে কবুতরটা ধান - চাল খেয়ে আবার খাঁচায় ঢোকে যায়।
আরো কয়েকদিন পর শান্তি দেখল, কবুতরটা ঘাড় ও গলা ফুলিয়ে চরকির মতো একবার ডানে, আরেকবার বামে লেফট - রাইট করার ভঙ্গিতে ঘুরতে ঘুরতে বকবক করে , বাকবাকুম বাকবাকুম, বাকুম বাকুম, বক বক বক, কুম কুম কুম...।
সেটা দেখে শান্তি কত্তো মজা পায় আর হাত তালি দিয়ে লাফিয়ে উঠে।
এভাবে বেশ কিছুদিন চলে গেল।
হঠাৎ করে আরেকদিন শান্তি দেখে কোত্থেকে জানি একটা মেয়ে কবুতর এসে শান্তির কবুতরের সঙ্গে আড্ডা দিচ্ছে।
হ্যাঁ, আড্ডা দিচ্ছে। ওরা একসঙ্গে উঠোনে খাবার খায় আর গাছের ডালে বসে কুম কুম করে আওয়াজ করে। যেন ওরা আড্ডা দিয়ে নিজেদের মধ্যে ভাব বিনিময় করছে।
এটা দেখে শান্তির বাবা - মায়েরও খুব আনন্দ লাগে।
মেয়ে কবুতরটা সারাদিন শান্তির কবুতরের সঙ্গে আড্ডা দিয়ে সন্ধ্যার আগে কোথায় যেন চলে যায়। এটা দেখে শান্তির ফুফু বলল, " মেয়ে কবুতরটাও একদিন শান্তির পোষ মানবে। "
একদিন মেয়ে কবুতরটা সারাদিন শান্তির কবুতরের সঙ্গে উঠোনে ঘুরাঘুরি করল।
কিন্তু সন্ধ্যাবেলা শান্তির কবুতরকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে মেয়ে কবুতরটা উড়াল দিল। উড়তে উড়তে গাছপালা পেরিয়ে কোথায় যেন চলে গেল।
এটা দেখে শান্তির কী কান্না। তখন শান্তির বাবা - মা বলল, " কালই আবার দুজনে আবার উড়ে ফিরে আসবে। "
কিন্তু পরদিন এলো না। তখন শান্তির ফুফু বলল, " আজ না হোক, কাল অবশ্যই ফিরে আসবে। " কিন্তু আসেনি।
এভাবে চলে গেল অনেক দিন। ততদিনে শান্তির ফুফুরও বিয়ে হয়ে গেল। কিন্তু শান্তির কবুতর ফিরে এল না।
অনেক বছর চলে গেছে। তবু শান্তি প্রতি বছরের সেই দিনটাতে অপেক্ষায় থাকে, যে দিনটাতে মেয়ে কবুতরের সঙ্গে উড়ে গিয়েছিল শান্তির কবুতর। (সমাপ্ত) ©️All Right Reserved by Junayed Ashrafur Rahman
