ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Fourth Conference for Translation, set to launch in conjunction with the 25th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair from May 10 – 13 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Adnec, will offer four specialised workshops on translating literary texts from English, Spanish and Japanese into Arabic and from Arabic into English. The workshops, for intern students from national and international universities, will be administered by a group of highly experienced Arab translation scholars.

The Abu Dhabi Conference for Translation is one of the pivotal cultural initiatives of the Kalima Project, run by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, which was able to establish solid strategies to enhance the translation into Arabic movement over the past three years.

This year, the conference will be themed, “Translation of Novels: Difficulties and Challenges” and, in addition to the workshops, will host general sessions that review translation theories and problematic issues, with a special focus on novels. More.
