Straight from the MFAA Convention, hear what digital revolution expert Steve Sammartino said on the coming finance disruption.

Steve Sammartino is a business person and thought leader, director of TomCar, author and part-time lecturer.

His keynote review of evolving technology and startups on the first day of the MFAA Convention 2015 urged brokers to embrace and not squander the opportunities provided in today's world of digital connection.

"In a way the phone is human," says Sammartino. "Technology is humanising business, now we're in a world of choice."

He referred to Google as an example of the split in today's world of distribution and production, where users create content and Google distributes it. The same goes for Youtube, Twitter, Facebook to name a few - they are all providing platforms rather than selling products.

"We trust each other more than we trust large organisations," said Sammartino. "Trust plus tech equals disruption."

"Payments loans and currency all going through rapid disruption right now," he said.

He said crowd funding is growing at 500% per annum and is an industry that brokers can access and should seize the opportunties, saying we are in an 'age of the prosumer', that is half producer and half consumer.

"The new 1% are those that embrace the facts that are happening with new technology", says Sammartino, reminding brokers to utilise the options where they can learn quick and for free online.
