Sinkholes open at Top of the Rock Golf Course

Four sinkholes opened up at Top of the Rock Golf Course in Ridgedale, Mo., causing damage at the course’s practice area Friday.

Engineers were on-site assessing the damage caused by four sinkholes, the largest of which was 60 feet by 80 feet wide and 35 feet deep, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

The sinkholes opened near the driving range, displacing about 7,000 cubic feet of material, according to the News-Leader. Tee times will not be affected, and it’s estimated that it will take around two weeks to fill the hole, if leaders at the course decide to do so.

Top of the Rock is host of the Champions Tour’s Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf event, which was held in April.
