Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow spoilers follow.
The above trailer for Flash/Arrow spin-off Legends of Tomorrow is pretty exciting.
Not only are we introduced to a new epoch-spanning villain Vandal Savage, a roguish Time Master Rip Hunter, and Hawkgirl, we're also given a glimpse of some of our favorite DC Universe characters teaming up.
Ray Palmer, as suspected, has achieved miniaturization of his super-suit. Now he can run around as a cute mini-superhero!
Sara Lance is back from the dead, apparently brought back via the Lazarus Pit. Was this the deal Oliver made with Malcolm when he handed over the League to him? Either way, hooray for Sara returning! Maybe she can steal Oliver from Felicity and end that godawful sub-plot romance.
We also get a very brief glance of Harrison Wells / Eobard Thawne in some sort of time machine. Very interesting indeed.
Sometimes these big superhero team-ups can be problematic (Age of Ultron anybody?) but sometimes they can work great. The addition of Captain Cold should be pretty fun, especially after his betrayal of Barry in this past Tuesday's episode of The Flash.
So we have a time-travel drama setup with a super-duper villain. We have the return of one of the best female protagonists in Arrow, and we have an assembly of heroes spanning two (well, now three) shows. Pretty cool.
It sounds risky, but if it works I think the payoff will be huge.
