The boyfriend of slain “Loredana, Esq.” star Loredana Nesci has been sentenced to 16 years to life in state prison for the 2015 stabbing death of the reality TV personality, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Robert Brian Reagan was found guilty of second-degree murder on Aug. 25 after a jury deliberated for three days on the case.

According to the prosecutor, Reagan stabbed Nesci, 47, to death on July 22, 2015, during a domestic dispute at their Redondo Beach, California, residence.

Evidence presented at the trial showed that Nesci and Reagan were separating at the time of the killing and the defendant wanted to avoid a custody battle over the couple’s son.

“On July 22, 2015 at approximately 7:20 a.m., the Redondo Beach Police Department received an emergency call to the dispatch center from a distraught male. The call originated from a residence in the 1900 block of Nelson Avenue,” a police statement following Reagan’s arrest in 2015 read.

“Officers responded to the location and discovered a deceased female inside the residence,” the statement continued. “The Redondo Beach Police Department suspects foul play and is investigating this incident as a homicide. A resident of Redondo Beach, Robert Reagan, 51 years of age has been arrested in connection with this homicide.”

“Loredana, Esq.” first aired on Sundance TV in March 2014. The series from Go Go Luckey Productions followed the former LAPD officer turned criminal defense attorney dubbed “the Legal Diva” as she cultivated a thriving law practice defending regular people.
