Oakbank RCMP say a credit card theft victim has been hit for more than $1,000 in transactions.
Mounties are investigating the theft of a wallet Feb. 16. “ Credit cards from the victim’s wallet have been used in several tap-to-pay transactions, costing more than $1,000 in total,” said police. “RCMP are looking for a suspect described as aboriginal, approximately 35-years-old, around 235 pounds and approximately five-feet-nine tall.”
RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact the Oakbank RCMP at 204-444-3847 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).
If you have tap-to-pay debit or credit cards, ensure you have a daily tap limit, police advise.
