Diego Costa Out Until The End Of The Month

Diego Costa Out Until The End Of The Month

The Blues received a massive blow as Diego Costa is apparently out for at least 2 weeks. It is very unlikely to see him on the pitch earlier than the beginning of May though considering the fact that hamstring injuries are very hard to diagnose and deal with. Unfortunately, forcing him to play against Stoke backfired and obligated him to leave the game 11 minutes after just coming on for Oscar. According to SkySports, the Spaniard agreed with Mourinho to take some risks until the end of the season in order to make sure the Blues secure the Premier League title. The Portuguese boss admitted to the press that he knew it can be dangerous to send Costa in but considered the striker could help despite the chance of limping off the field.

Rumors that the medical staff made a mistake emerged after Costa had to leave the pitch but Mourinho made sure to let everyone know that this is not the case. It is just an agreement between the player and all club staff which decided to push through despite existing risks. It is a pity to see the striker having to deal with the same problem which has been keeping him back for the past year or so. Since moving to London he has already dealt with this hamstring problem twice, once back in October and another time back in February. It is very unlikely to have this solved earlier than the end of this month but hopefully with intensive treatment from the world’s pre-eminent hamstring specialists Costa can make a complete recovery and return to the Blues in tip-top condition for the start of next season, which would be a massive boost and would put the fear of god into the defences of all teams throughout Europe.
