With international operations under two divisions, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG is a Swiss global health care company.  Basel, Switzerland is its headquarters and the company has several locations of the two divisions both in the United States and worldwide.  Around the world in total, there are 26 manufacturing locations.  Fritz Hoffmann-La Roche founded the firm in 1896, which focused initially on the production of vitamin preparations and derivatives.  In addition, Hoffmann-La Roche AG owns Genentech, which is an affiliate wholly owned by the company.
