78th District Court sentencings

HART – The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Ronald Frank Brown, 33, of 3765 Felch Ave., White Cloud, was found guilty March 23 of second-offense operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail; one year discretionary jail to ensure compliance with sentence; credit for time served if imposed; alcohol assessment by probation officer in Newaygo County Jail; and $415 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One felony count of third-offense OWI was dismissed.

– Justin Everett Harmon, 22, of 5770 W. 7th, Mears, was found guilty March 23 of domestic violence. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; no contact with victim; six months probation; no alcohol/drugs; subject to counseling, testing and searches as required by probation officer; may not purchase or possess a firearm; and $925 in fines and costs.

– Margarito Rocha, 35, of 5742 N. 126th, Hart, was found guilty March 23 of driving while license suspended and sentenced to $400 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; and credit for time served if imposed.

– Eric Michael Failing, 28, of 121 S. Menes St., Walkerville, was found guilty March 23 of operating while impaired. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail to ensure compliance with court orders; credit for time served if imposed; Alcohol Highway Safety Education; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
