Road weight and speed restrictions go into effect next week.

SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Road Commission has announced that seasonal road weight and speed restrictions will take effect on Thursday, March 12 at 7 a.m. All county roads, with the exception of the state trunklines and county “all season roads will be restricted to the maximum axle load by 35% per axle and truck speeds to 35 mph.

Weight and speed restrictions are enforced to minimize the damage caused during the Michigan’s seasonal thaw.
