LUDINGTON — A Ludington man pleaded guilty to home invasion this afternoon in 51st Circuit Court. Gilberto Miguel Colon, 18, of 718 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington, was arrested Dec. 8 by LPD for felonies of first-degree home invasion and conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion.

Colon was offered a plea agreement with the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office to drop the two charges and add a third charge of home invasion second degree, a felony that can be punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Colon’s plea calls for a one-year jail sentence, serving six months up front.

He told Judge Susan Sniegowski that he and a group of friends entered a home in the 700 block of East Filer Street on Dec. 8, 2014 and demanded marijuana. He said his friend stole a television set as well. While he was not in favor of the action, he admitted that he did not leave either.

He will be sentenced on April 23 at 2 p.m.
