Floyd Mayweather Vs. Manny Pacquiao Prediction: Ricky Hatton In Favor Of Mayweather; Confident Floyd Says Pacquiao Can’t Stain His Record

Since Floyd Mayweather confirmed that he and Manny Pacquiao will finally clash on May 2, boxing observers, boxers, and fans are making their bets on who they think will win the fight.

Pacquiao's former opponent, British boxer Ricky Hatton, said that Mayweather wins this one by a slight edge.

The retired boxer emphasized how smart of a fighter Mayweather is and how he proves time and time again how he uses his opponent's style to his advantage. He thinks Mayweather will apply the same tactics against Pacquiao, a known southpaw.

"Floyd always finds a way to win, no matter the style. And that's the reason that I make him a slight favorite over Manny," said Hatton in an interview with the Ring Magazine Online.

He also believes that Pacquiao's weakness is a counter puncher as seen on his rival Juan Manuel Marquez, who knocked him out in the sixth round in their 2012 match at the MGM Grand.

"Manny is a great fighter, but when you look at the trouble he had with the counter-punching style of Juan Manuel Marquez, he could be in serious trouble with Floyd Mayweather," said Hatton.

Nevertheless, he thinks that Pacquiao will put on a valiant effort and an upset is not out of the table.

"Manny is always on top of you and his hand and foot speed are very hard to read. He's very herky-jerky and extremely dangerous when he gets into punching range. Floyd will have his work cut out for him, that's for sure," he said.

Meanwhile, the confident Floyd Mayweather said that someone like Manny Pacquiao can't blemish his unbeaten record. Via gmanewsnetwork:

"I am the best ever, TBE, and this fight will be another opportunity to showcase my skills and do what I do best, which is win. "Manny is going to try to do what 47 before him failed to do but he won't be successful. He will be number 48," he said.

Will Floyd Mayweather be able to back those words come May 3? Stay tuned.
