Marc Dole NH Filmmaker of the Year! Ken Burns receives Van McLeod Award.

Filmmaker Marc Dole was named the NH Film Festival New Hampshire Filmmaker of the year Thursday evening during the NHPTV NH Night Program. Dole is involved in at least seven films accepted at NHFF this year and is a fixture in the NH and New England filmmaking community.

The New Hampshire Public Television NH Night Program was, by all accounts, a rousing success. A special thanks to comedian Juston McKinney for hosting and making this one of the most memorable – and enjoyable – NH Nights in memory at NHFF.

Van McLeod award: Ken Burns
Named for Van McLeod, commissioner of NH Dept. of Cultural Resources, this award honors a NH filmmaker for significant, lifetime contribution to the NH film industry.

Best NH Performance by a NH Actor: John Forest “Wanting Alex”
Voted on by our screening committee, this award honors the best performance by an actor in a NH Night film.

Best NH Short Doc: “Agadez: The Music and the Rebellion,” Directed by Ron Wyman
Awarded by the screening committee for the most outstanding documentary screened during NH Night.

Best NH Short (juried): “The Pond,” Directed and written by Dan Hannon.
Awarded by the screening committee for a film less than 60 minutes in legnth.

NH Filmmaker of the Year: Marc Dole
Awarded to an outstanding filmmaker taking part NHFF. Recognizes the annual contribution and achievements of a NH filmmaker.
