Costa Insists His Behavior On The Pitch Is Backed Up By Determination

The Blues have had to deal with a lot of criticism coming their way. Costa was the last one to be targeted especially after his performance against Liverpool. The Brazilian born Spanish International who is currently the Premier League’s number one scorer was backed up by Mourinho and also by his teammates despite the video footage that showed moments in which he intentionally stepped on his adversaries. According to the Daily Mail, Costa went as far as to characterize his behavior on the pitch as noble which might be a bit much given his sometimes ill-timed tackles.

Moving to the Premier League seems to have enabled his aggressive style which was not tolerated in Spain. It will be a while until he manages to find a balance between being a noble fighter and sneaky player that tries to get away with stomping on other footballers. Unlike most of the greats developed by the Premier League, Costa has difficulties containing himself. It would be a pity to see him go down in the fans’ eyes for gestures like the ones against Liverpool. Even though Costa tried defending himself by saying that he is not used to being part of such aggressive clashes on a regular basis, it is still not an excuse for what happened. Fortunately, being such a huge talent, it seems that except for the FA all other parties forgave Costa who even according to Brendan Rodgers, does not need to stomp on anyone to make a mark on each and every game.
