Wenger is still looking to improve the competition for the goalkeeper position which has been a bit insecure for all current competitors. Only Ospina of the three has managed to make an impression and the other two have either picked up injuries or slipped up both on and off the pitch. After endless rumors linking stoppers like Casillias, Valdes and Lloris, a more approachable target emerged. World Cup sensation Guillermo Ochoa has failed to acclimatise in la Liga and is now looking to change sides. According to TalkSport, leaving Ajaccio was not the best of choices for the 30 year old who disappeared after a very promising streak of international games.

Ochoa is also being targeted by Liverpool who are looking to bring in a new keeper. Arsenal have the upper hand though as the competition for a number one spot is a lot more evenly distributed than it would be with Brendan Rodgers’s team. A price is already set for Ochoa who is valued at £4million which should not be too much for Wenger. The Mexican is under contract until 2016 after signing a three year deal with Malaga. Things are not yet set at the Emirates where Szczesny has one foot out the door since the past year. Ospina is also a little delicate due to his physical condition. Even if the Colombian has had some great performances, he has still to prove he can hold down the fort for Arsenal long term.
