School, Government and Business Closings and Delays:

  • North Reading Public Schools have cancelled Monday afternoon and evening activities and will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The schools announced that they will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 28 too. 
  • Town of North Reading Non-Emergency Services, including the Town Hall, Senior Center, and Flint Memorial Library, will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
  • Flint Memorial Library will close at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 and will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
  • The post office will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
  • All town meetings and activities for Monday, Jan. 26 and tomorrow, Jan. 27 have been postponed.
  • Dunkin’ Donuts in North Reading will be closed on Tuesday.
  • Park Street Veterinary Clinic is closing at 5 p.m. Monday because of the impending blizzard. It also plans to be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you’re short on food or medications for your pet, make sure you get there by 5 p.m. Monday.

Event Cancelations/Postponements:

  • Flint Memorial Library has postponed its 15 in ‘15 event that was scheduled on Tuesday. But don’t worry -- the event will be held at another date to be determined.
  • Horseshoe Grille has postponed the winner dinner event planned for Monday night to Monday, March 2.

Power Outages:

North Reading Police reports that one phone line is done at Reading Municipal Light Department. Customers can call either 781-944-1342 or 781-944-1343.

Possible Shelter:

  • If necessary, town officials are prepared to open a shelter at the Batchelder School. In the event that you need to leave your home, please be prepared to bring any medications that you might need.
