MUSKEGON — The man arrested for last Friday’s armed robbery at the Branch Grocery faces a six-count felony warrant for robbing the eastern Mason County store. He also has been charged in four separate cases of armed robbery in Muskegon County, where he is currently being held.

Mark Anthony Miller, 41, of Muskegon Township, has not been formally arraigned yet in Mason County, however, mlive.com has reported that Miller is the suspect in the Dec. 12 robbery of the store located about half mile west of the Mason-Lake counties line at 9455 E. U.S. 10.

In addition to the offense in Mason County, Miller faces charges for a spree of robberies over the past four months that include two gas stations and two restaurants in Muskegon County. Mlive.com reports the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office has stated that Miller is the suspect in at least two other Muskegon County robberies.

Miller is lodged in the Muskegon County Jail. His bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety in each of the four cases.

Armed robbery is a felony punishable by up to life in prison. Miller is charged as a fourth-time habitual offender, which could increase his sentencing guidelines in case of conviction.

Miller’s criminal record includes drunk diving second offense, attempted resisting and obstructing a police officer, attempted larceny in a building and three cases of unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Miller was arrested Thursday, Dec. 18, at a Muskegon Township home, according to a Michigan State Police press release.
