Kochi in India is hosting its second art biennale

Large contemporary art exhibitions, or biennale, are held regularly in places like Venice, Istanbul and Berlin.

In 2012, India had one of its own in the southern state of Kerala and despite the financial struggle, organisers are putting on another show.

But in a country with so much poverty, is it fair to spend so much on an arts festival?

Ashleigh Nghiem travelled to the biennale in Kochi to find out.
