Crowdfunding platforms including Peer to Peer lenders have swarmed KPMG’s list of Fintech Innovators for 2014.
The annual list compiled by global accounting and consultancy group KPMG includes a vast group of new funding platforms including crowdfunding and peer to peer lenders. Equity crowdfunding platforms on the list include; OurCrowd, CircleUp, AngelList, Crowdcube and Seedrs. Direct lending sites include Lending Club, OnDeck, Funding Circle, Prosper, Society One, Zopa, and Ratesetter. Kickstarter makes the list too at number 41.
The report is a collaboration between AWI Ventures KPMG Australia and the Financial Services Council (FSC). The document is created to highlight those companies that are disrupting the financial services industry today. The shear number of crowdfunding and P2P platforms is indicative of the profound impact the internet has delivered on the traditional finance industry today.
