Shapps woke from coma in US and was asked about health bill

A Tory MP described waking from a coma in a US hospital after a road crash to a phone call asking how he was going to settle his bill.

Grant Shapps told Daily Politics presenter Andrew Neil: "I don't want to live in that kind of health service."

He said all health services had problems and advantages, but he wanted people in Britain to have a health service where anyone could see a GP.
