Woman's Hour

Stream a cinematic, nostalgia-riffing mix from Woman's Hour

The swoony synth band pick iconic tracks from Patsy Cline, Scott Walker and The Velvet Underground

Fine art-influenced monochrome visuals, smooth 80’s synths and melancholic vocals all combine to in the world of London-based four-piece Woman’s Hour – no suprise that their mix, stitched together for Dazed by drummer/synth-player Josh Hunnissett, has a similarly wide scope. Flirting in and out of iconic tracks (Patsy Cline’s "Your Cheatin’ Heart," Led Zeppelin’s "That’s The Way" and Lee Hazlewood’s ‘I’m Glad I Never…’), the mix plunges you into a cinematic journey climaxing with Ennio Morricone’s iconic "La Storia De Un Soldat", lifted from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly OST. "I want (the listener) to feel a story when you listen, take what you want and indulge”, explains Hunnissett, recommending the mix for lengthy train journeys and contemplative moments. "It’s a collection of songs that I dug out of my parent’s record collection when I last went home. As most kids do, I listened to their records in the car and at dinner times, but I never discovered these tracks. When you have storytelling of this caliber it’s hard to know what I missed out on."
