The 11 best videos from today's PlayStation Experience event

Uncharted 4, Street Fighter V, and more

42

For the first-ever PlayStation Experience event, Sony filled its keynote with an impressive slate of new trailers and on-stage demos — the official PlayStation channel on YouTube, for example, has already uploaded more than 30 new videos from the event. Here's a very subjective list of our favorite videos.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

This is the big one, the first time we've seen actual gameplay footage of the first Uncharted game for the PlayStation 4, and while the gameplay might feel all too familiar, the graphical upgrades are very impressive.

Street Fighter V

News of the game leaked a bit early, but that by no means diminishes the fun of seeing Ryu and Chun-Li face off. The game will support cross-platform play between PC and PS4.

Drawn to Death

Here’s a kooky new game from David Jaffe, the mind behind God of War and Twisted Metal. It’s ostensibly a multiplayer arena shooter — four-player free-for-all is the standard mode — but all we know is that it looks truly insane. And what else would you expect for a game that’s supposed to take place in the wild, messed up world of a high schooler’s composition notebook? Drawn to Death will be a PS4 exclusive when it comes out.

Grim Fandango: Remastered

Now we know they meant by "remastered." The classic LucasArts adventure game retains much of the same art style but dynamic lighting and cleaner audio. It's finally coming out January 27 for PS4, PS Vita, PC, Mac, and Linux. And after that? Day of the Tentacle.

Killing Floor 2

If ridiculous, over-the-top violence is your kind of thing, keep a close watch on TripWire's upcoming shooter.

No Man's Sky

We're so obsessed with this infinitely-large universe-exploration game that we'll take any footage we can get.

Until Dawn

This game was first announced as a PlayStation Move title for the PS3, but now it’s just a good ol’ playable version of a teen horror movie. You’ll have to try to guide a group of teenagers through the worst night of their lives as a murderer comes to take them down. Choose wisely: as the developer said on stage, once you die in Until Dawn, there’s no coming back.

Fat Princess Adventures

The latest chapter in the Fat Princess saga is here with Fat Princess Adventures for the PS4. Like this first game, this new title is basically a medieval RTS with a focus on sword-fighting, magic, and sweets. You might find that odd — maybe even a little off — but it looks like fun for strategy game lovers..

Wattam

Wattam is the next big game from Katamari Damacy developer Keita Takahashi. As such, you can expect it to be every bit as whimsical as it is flat-out demented. We only saw a glimpse of the game at the PlayStation Experience event, but seeing how… explosive… it got by the end, we’re excited to see what comes next.

Super Time Force Ultra

Super Time Force, the excellent side-scrolling shooter with a time-traveling twist, launched earlier this year as an Xbox exclusive, but now an updated version of the game is coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2015. And you’ll never guess who’s along for the ride this time: Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment’s game studios. Check out the new trailer to watch him blast foes with hashtags and tweets.

20 Years of PlayStation

The PlayStation brand turned 20 this month, and Sony is in a really festive mood. Not only is the company releasing a new PS4 to celebrate, but it also produced this LittleBigPlanet-flavored retrospective as a way of looking back on some of its biggest hits. If you’ve been playing PlayStation since the ‘90s, you’ll love this.
