Weekly Watch Focus: Revival in China
FRIDAY, Dec 5, 2014, In this Christmas Season, we celebrate the rapid spread of Christianity in China. In an article this November, the secular magazine, Economist, recognized that at this present rate of swift growth there will be 250 million committed Christian believers in China. Despite the Communist party’s consistent persecution over the last half-century, Christianity has steadily spread. It is getting harder for the Communist government to control this revival which is even spreading within its own party ranks. Many in the intelligentsia discern the roots of Western strength are its Christian foundations. They are recognizing that Christian believers make some of the most conscientious, helpful citizens. Let us praise God for the revival of Christianity in China. Pray for the 1,000s of house churches and their pastors. We pray for those who still undergo persecution. May the Holy Spirit continue to sweep through every corner of China. We bless the Church in China this Christmas.
