Thursday arrests include retail fraud, driving while drugged.

springstead_carter_1PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people for retail fraud Thursday at Wal-Mart, 4800 block of West U.S. 10. A 21-year-old Manistee woman and a 21-year-old Manistee man were both arrested following a call from the retailer at 3:55 p.m.

Deputies also arrested a 22-year-old Fountain woman for operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs following an 8:14 p.m. traffic stop at U.S. 10-31 and Stiles Rd. in Amber Twp.

Other activity of the MCSO for Nov. 20, 2014 included:

  • 2:15 a.m.: Assist to Michigan State Police, resisting arrest, 600 block of Danaher St., City of Ludington.
  • 5:58 a.m.: Slide off, no damage/injury, Stiles and Fountain roads, Victory Twp.
  • 6:06 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Scottville and Kistler roads, Riverton Twp.
  • 6:33 a.m.: Slide off, no damage/injury, Stiles Rd. south of Fountain Rd., Victory Twp.
  • 11:54 a.m.: Fraud, Quade Rd., Grant Twp. An unknown subject contacted the complainant claiming to be the IRS, demanding money for unpaid taxes. Victim paid the individual $3,000.
  • 5:55 p.m.: Car/deer crash, non injuries, U.S. 10 and Benson Rd., Branch Twp.
  • 5:55 p.m.: One vehicle crash, no injuries, Sugar Grove and Reek roads, Sherman Twp.
