The Washington Capitals reassigned forward Tom Wilson to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, the team announced Monday.
Wilson, who has missed the first five games of the season with a lower-body injury, is expected to debut with the Bears this weekend, according to the Capitals.
The No. 16 pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, Wilson, 20, had three goals and 10 points with the Capitals last season and was one of three rookies (Nathan MacKinnon, Tyler Johnson) to appear in all 82 games.
