Laich won't accompany Capitals on three-game trip
Washington Capitals forward Brooks Laich will not accompany the team on their upcoming three-game road trip, according to Mike Vogel.

Washington Capitals forward Brooks Laich has an upper-body injury and will not accompany the team on its upcoming three-game road trip, according to Mike Vogel, senior writer for the Capitals website.

Forward Jay Beagle will return to the lineup and take Laich's place on a line with Marcus Johansson and Andre Burakovsky, Vogel reported.

"I think we're looking at probably the first game back from the trip [Oct. 29 against the Detroit Red Wings]," coach Barry Trotz said, according to NBCWashington.com. "Not too serious but serious enough where I don't think he will be quite effective for us in the three games.

"It's not a six-week thing. I think it's a week to 10 days and he should be ready to roll."

Laich has one assist in five games this season.
