Joan Rivers News: Late ‘Fashion Police’ Host’s Death Stems From ‘Special Treatment?’ Estate Amounting To $150 Million Mostly For Daughter Melissa And Grandson Cooper

Joan Rivers news update reveals that the "Fashion Police" host's death might have stemmed from special treatment, as her estate amounting to $150 million will be distributed to daughter Melissa and grandson Cooper.

The New York Times  reported of Joan Rivers news update as it said that the treatment of the comedian at the Manhattan endoscopy clinic is the latest example of the "V.I.P syndrome."

The article noted that even with the special treatment, it doesn't necessarily work out the best for the client.

"Probably the most notorious example of a doctor catering to a celebrity is the case of Michael Jackson, who died after his private doctor gave him Propofol, a surgical anesthetic, to help him sleep," the article noted. "The doctor, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and spent two years in prison. "

But the article said that doctors and hospitals still continue to practice "V.I.P treatment" for special cases, and not just celebrities, not only for the amount of money the patients can bring in but also to curry future favors.

Joan Rivers news revealed the "Fashion Police" host died on September 4 after what seemed like a routine endoscopy, which involves inserting a tiny camera to look down her throat. Accordingly the clinic might be liable for allowing her own throat doctor, who was not authorized to practice at the clinic, to examine her as well.

In other news about the late "Fashion Police" host, the NY Daily News reported that a bulk of Joan Rivers' $150 million estate wil be left to her daughter and grandson. But a good chunk will also go to her four rescued dogs.

"Those dogs are her family. They meant the world to her and Joan wanted to make sure that if anything happened to her that they would be taken care of," a friend of the comedian told about the distribution of Joan Rivers' estate.
