The Treatment Room - Discussion of Injuries
      Sep 06, 2014 01:11:55 am
Just an idea for a new thread. Instead of spreading the discussion on injuries between different player threads, (eg. Sturridge injury discussion on the Balotelli/Borini player threads), we could localise it all on here.

Personally think we're well-set to deal with this latest blow. Plenty match-winners amongst Balo, Lambert, Lallana, Markovic, Coutinho, Hendo, Stevie and Raheem.

And that's why I'm not working for MI5! Shame - for a moment I thought there was another kindred spirit who played F22 on Mega drive.

Allen as well. Bit thin in the middle of the park all of a sudden.

BR affirming what we all suspected (i.e. that Sturrdige's injury is Roy Hodgson's fault):

when I used to play in youth teams training was often Monday and Thursday evenings and sometimes I wouldn't even be able to walk very much Tuesdays and Fridays so I had to miss some school days and even the day after that I could feel it in the groin area. I was a number 10 like player. Rodgers is right when he says pacey attackers need a bit more downtime. I thought Sturridge should have came off at half time against Norway.

      Got to feel for Flanno.

      From The Echo:

Jon Flanagan facing extended absence after operation on his left knee
Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his left knee.

The Reds expect to be without the 21-year-old Academy graduate for a number of months after his hopes of a comeback were dashed.

Flanagan has been hampered by fluid on his knee since the club's pre-season tour of America and hasn't featured since July's friendly against Preston.

He was scheduled to return to full training this month but with Flanagan still in discomfort the decision was taken for him to go under the knife.

It has been a frustrating summer for the young defender, who is close to signing a new long-term contract.

He has been unable to kick on from last season when he firmly established himself in Brendan Rodgers' side and saw his outstanding form rewarded with a full England debut against Ecuador in June.

The Reds will also be without the injured Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen, Emre Can and Glen Johnson for Saturday's trip to West Ham.

Martin Skrtel is fit to return and Lazar Markovic is available after suspension.

Hard road back for Red Cafu.
Two young fullbacks flourishing while he deals with his injuries.

      Patience and good luck kiddo.

In that case, make sure we don't send them to any doctors surgery in Huyton then :f_tongueincheek:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-29254609

Feel for Flanno. The curse of a full back eh? :'(
