Everyone is pretty excited about the upcoming "Mad Max Fury Road" movie, but there is also a new game coming to the franchise from Avalance Studios. 

Avalanche, has recently expanded their New York office and moved to a larger office in Stockholm, expanding when a lot of other developers are going out of buisiness.

Marco Checchi, a partner at Studio Stockholm commented about the new change, saying, 

"While we are moving to a brand new space, it's important for us to remain in the hotbed of game development talent that is central Stockholm, said Fredrik Sjöö, COO of Avalanche Studios . Working together with Vasakronan and the architects at Studio Stockholm is incredibly inspiring. I can't wait to realize our collective vision and create a space worthy of the industry's top talent. This is a very exciting opportunity,"

"Avalanche Studios' distinct outward attitude coupled with a warm and welcoming working atmosphere makes them unique in the games industry. We intend to manifest that duality in a physical space."

"Avalanche Studios also has several surprises planned for next year. "

"Mad Max" is the kind of game that got a lot of buzz at first and then dropped off the radar entirely. Avalanche, however,  confirmed in a blog post that they are making progress, and that "Mad Max" is scheduled for a release date somewhere in 2015.

The "Mad Max" game, however, is not releated to the new "Fury Road" in any way shape or form. The last official update on the game  came during E3 2013, where its creators said it wouldn't tie into the upcoming film, then made a concession by changing the main character to have an Australian accent. Other than the "g'day mates" the game isn't related to the movie at all. 

The game was origonally announced back in 2008, then went dark. It reemerged in 2013, with a 2014 release date touted, but then was delayed. So the 2015 release date is a wide window on a game with a history of not quite being put together all the way. There is a trailer out, and you can watch it below
