Alton Towers have today revealed the attractions that will make up this years Scarefest event. We take a look at what is in store for families and thrill seekers alike. This years Halloween offering will run from October 18th until November 2nd and will feature extended park opening until 9pm like previous years.
Thrill Attractions
Most important to note this year is the loss of a free maze for visitors. In previous years the park put on three scare mazes, of which one was free and two were charged. This year, there will only be two mazes and both will be chargeable. To somewhat mitigate this loss, there will be a new for 2014 scare zone entitled “Scary Tales.”
2014 Scare Mazes
- The Sanctuary – The award winning maze will return again this year, inviting advocates to visit the Ministry of Joy for marmalisation.
- Terror of the Towers: What Lies Within – Discover a hidden secret in the Towers ruins, in the popular maze that returns for yet another year.
2014 Scare Zones
- Scary Tales – NEW FOR 2014 – “Once upon a time there was a tortured mind, which in the darkness was left to unwind. Re-writing stories to make nightmares come true, the only character missing…is you!”
- Zombies – Make your way through a post-apocalyptic nightmare and hope you reach the other side…
Scare Mazes combi tickets are currently priced at £14 in park or £12 online (£11.20 and £9.60 for MAP holders) though these prices may be subject to change. Scare Zones are Free to all park guests.
Family Attractions – Franklyn’s Freaky Fun Zone
As with every year, Alton Towers offer a range of family attractions to keep little ones entertained. These are fun and friendly rather than big and scary! Family Attractions will take place in “Franklyn’s Freaky Fun Zone” which is located in Fountain Square (beside Hex). The 2014 line-up appears unchanged from the 2013 event and will comprise of the following attractions:
- Patch’s Trick or Treat Party: Live On Stage! – Join Patch and sing-along and dance whilst he shares his favourite Halloween songs.
- Skelvin’s Spooky Storytime – Join Skelvin as he shares spooky stories for little ones.
- Phil and Franklyn’s Ghoul School – Franklyn’s forgotten how to spook, so Phil’s got to teach him!
- Patch’s Freaky Talks – Three times a day, Patch will teach you about the creepy creatures that call Franklyn’s Freaky Fun Zone home.
- Character Meet & Greets – Meet the Alton Towers ‘Famous Freaky Four’
