“A large number of people in the US state of Missouri have held a demonstration outside the office of Saint Louis County prosecutor, demanding the arrest of the white police officer who shot dead a black teenager earlier this month. Ferguson, Missouri, has been the scene of violent clashes between police and protesters since the fatal police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown on August 9. He was shot multiple times and killed by police in the Saint Louis suburb of Ferguson. US President Barack Obama has endorsed the use of the National Guard to suppress protests in Ferguson. On Monday afternoon, Missouri National Guard soldiers sent by Governor Jay Nixon began to arrive in Ferguson, after earlier policing efforts failed to quell the protests.”
