Shelvin Mack will be returning to the Atlanta Hawks on a three-year, $7.3 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. The deal includes a team option after the second year.

Mack served as a backup point guard to Jeff Teague last season and played significantly well. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.7 assists per game.

Mack, 24, has played for three different teams in three years in the league, but with his new deal, it seems like he has found a home in Atlanta after averaging career-highs in the aforementioned stats.

The Hawks definitely needed their backup point guard back because of his solid play making and ball handling skills.

Atlanta continues to shore up its roster, and the team still has around $9 million in cap space to entice more talent to come aboard. The Hawks are still interested in bringing back restricted costless agent Mike Scott as well and would have additional money to use on other costless agents.

The Hawks have strengthened their backcourt this off-season, and they will possibly move forward to solidifying their frontcourt to complete their roster.
