‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date Set To Be Revealed By Author George R.R. Martin? Writer Continues Promotion Of Prizeo Fundraiser

The social media networks have been buzzing that the "Winds of Winter" release date will be announced on August 19 during the London event organized by HarperVoyager UK. The "A Song of Ice and Fire" writer, meanwhile, continues to promote his Prizeo fundraiser.

The event, which brings together George R.R. Martin and fantasy author Robin Hobb, is being hyped by Jane Johnson, HarperVoyager UK publishing director. Tickets are also quite steep at 45 pounds each although it already includes a hardcover of Robin Hobb's book "Fool's Assassin."

The official HarperVoyager UK Twitter page announced: "NEWSFLASH: Exclusive event with George RR Martin & @RobinHobb in London 19 Aug! #GeorgeandRobin."

Jane Johnson, meanwhile, described the event as "bringing together two of the greatest storytellers in modern fiction talking candidly about their writing lives."

"We're thrilled to have George and Robin together for such an event - they are two experts at their craft, and have taken fantasy writing to the widest possible audience through their amazing worlds and characters. HarperCollins is immensely proud to publish both authors. I, for one, am hugely looking forward to attending this event," she added.

Speculations about the "Winds of Winter" release date being announced at the event since HarperVoyager is the publisher of George R.R. Martin in the UK and Australia.

In his official blog, George R.R. Martin is still mum about the "Winds of Winter" release date although he did drummed up his Prizeo fundraising event.

"Only six days remain on my big Prizeo fundraiser on behalf of the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and the Food Depot of Santa Fe. We've raised some $459,000 as I write, but we're still short of our half-million dollar goal," George R.R. Martin wrote on July 19.

He said many of the special prizes have already been grabbed but there are still some remaining, including a cover of "A Feast of Crows" painted by Stephen Youll, which was never released because it was changed by Bantam Books.
