GCG Sets Timeframe for Next Round of Full Tilt Poker Repayments

1000 claimants will be reimbursed at the end of next month, says claims administrator.

  • The Garden City Group announced on Wednesday that approximately 1,000 Petitioners that had their cases reviewed by government officials but were not “approved for remission due to obviously incorrect or incomplete information,” will have their updated Petitions resubmitted for approval in the “coming weeks.”
  • The GCG has also announced that it will send other Petitions out to the government for approval including those that missed previous deadlines for filling, Petitioners that withdrew a disputed or duplicate claim and affiliates that confirmed their account balance.
  • These payments are expected to be made by the end of July.

Interstate Slot Jackpot “Dissimilar” to Online Poker Liquidity

New multistate progressive jackpot allows liquidity sharing between New Jersey and Nevada.

  • The new multistate Wide Area Progressive (WAP) jackpot link joins progressive jackpots in multiple states.
  • The multistate progressive jackpot “is dissimilar to online poker liquidity in that players are not actively playing against each other in one game.”

PokerStars Guarantees $40 Million for 2014 Spring Championship of Online Poker

PokerStars plans the biggest SCOOP championship ever, with 135 events to be held over two weeks in May.

  • This year’s SCOOP is expected to go down as the richest online poker championship in history. In 2013 PokerStars paid out $75, 585,435.05 in prize money. This year, three additional tournaments have been added to the schedule.
  • The series runs from May 4-18 with a wide variety of games and formats to choose from. The Main Event is scheduled to start on the last day and guarantees $1m, $2m and $3m for the various buy-in levels.

Satoshi Poker Up For Auction

  • Satoshi Poker, the bitcoin only site, is for sale by auction.
  • Owner Bart van Oort is holding a 48 hour auction that began on Monday.
  • According to the pitch, there are 4648 registered players, whose play generated 98.4 BTC in rake in 2013.

Winamax Expands to Sports Betting

A tough poker market makes the additional business line a sensible strategic move.

  • Winamax is expected to offer sports betting alongside its French regulated online poker room in the near future.
  • The company has been advertising for staff for its “upcoming launch and development of Pole Sport Winamax Paris.”
  • The addition of sports betting revenues, assuming that Winamax can make a success of the venture, can only help with the sustainability of its poker operations.
