Charity being supported by this event

Risers 4 Rett’s main purpose is to raise funds for the Rett Clinic at the Children's Hospital Colorado. The Clinic requires a minimum of $100,000/year to support Rett families. One of our top goals when establishing this Clinic was to provide a place where the doctors come to the patients, not vice versa. So Rett Families conveniently stay in one. But besides the convenience, we also wanted to provide a variety, a multidisciplinary Clinic. For one afternoon, we bring together up to 15 sub-specialty providers and therapists to provide a comprehensive evaluation for your child. Only a handful of Rett Clinics in the US and people from all over the world are coming to this Clinic. For more info, click here.

I have never had more fun on a girls trip. Float fly fishing with our guides was an experience worth repeating! Every detail of the Risers womens fly fishing event was well thought out, enjoyable and seamless. Everyone I met at the event felt like an old friend, it was so great to be in the mountains together and learning more about fly fishing. I am very much a newbie and loved everyone minute of it and can’t wait to go back next year! It was also a really good feeling to be able to contribute to, and learn more about, such a great cause. Thank you Risers 4 Rett!

Clean the Dream 2023

Clean the Dream 2023

8th Annual Clean the Dream

Risers 4 Rett will be partnering again with fly fishing guide Landon Mayer to support the Clean the Dream event on August 26. Join us to make a difference and clean up the nature we enjoy so much. It’s our way of giving back to the fishing community, so join us. No need to register. Just show up.

Time: Saturday, August 26 2023 from 8 AM to about 2 PM

Location: "The Dream Stream" is the three-mile-long Colorado tailwater section of the South Platte River, which is close to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area, about 2 hours 20 minutes from Denver. We’ll start at the Bridge Parking Lot next to County Rd 59, with access to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area.

CAMPING

We recommend camping at the Eleven Mile State Park.

What’s going to happen:

We’ll start with an 8 am breakfast (donuts!). Everybody needs to fill out a waiver and then get a map. Trash bags & tools will be provided. Volunteers will be split up and directed to different areas. After spending a few hours collecting trash, we’ll meet back at the parking lot. Every person returning with a full trash bag will get a raffle ticket. Top-notch fishing outdoor companies have donated goodies to support this event, and you can get awarded for your volunteer time! This is a perfect family-friendly volunteer event!

Origin and idea behind:

Clean the Dream was started by Brandon Kramer & Landon Mayer in 2015. They were bothered by all the trash left behind by outdoor enthusiasts, which is hazardous for animals and unsightly for everyone. They felt the need to make a difference and, at the same time, provide community support and education on protecting these resources for the next generation. After they got approval from Colorado Parks & Wildlife, they rallied volunteers to clean up the area around the three-mile-long section of the South Platte River, also known as "the Dream Stream,” which is at the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area. In 2019 a total of 765 pounds of trash was collected by 125 volunteers. During COVID-19, there has been a 200% increase in outdoor activity, so more trash is to be expected. This event is even more critical now than it was in the past.

As a bonus, you will also receive a welcome packet and gift bag loaded with items from some of the most respected brands in the fly fishing industry.

Friday: On Friday morning, teams are assigned their stunning river locations and the fishing begins! All teams will have access to amazing stretches on the Gunnison River, East River and Taylor River. While our base camp is the Almont Resort, we are very lucky (and thankful!) that the owners of Three Rivers Resort are supporting our event by offering access to their pristine private waters. The fishing here is legendary!

Friday night concludes with dinner and drinks (included), followed by a silent and live auction with a professional auctioneer.

Saturday: For your second full day on the river, teams will continue to rotate fishing locations in the morning and afternoon. Saturday night we’ll have an awards ceremony with dinner and drinks (included) as awards are handed out.

Sunday: Pack up, fist bump friends (new and old) and head safely home.

New to fishing? No problem!

Risers 4 Rett's primary purpose is to raise funds for the Rett Clinic at Children's Hospital-Colorado. A close second priority is to raise awareness and educate people about Rett Syndrome in general. To ensure success at our events we make sure everyone is properly prepared and comfortable with the "fishing" aspects of the weekend. For those new to fly fishing and our events, we provide ample opportunity for all levels to understand fly fishing and have fun doing it! Individual guides provide instruction on fly fishing techniques, proper catch and release fish handling and habitat preservation. The guides at our events look forward to teaching you the skills needed to catch fish and maintain the wonderful habitat we fish in.

Fee

Entrance fee is $1500/person or $3000/team. With your ticket you can also get a custom R4R Special Edition 5/6 Animas Reel made by Ross Reels (scroll down for details) for an additional $350.

Our registration platform lets you create a fundraiser so that you can spread the word and get donations for your event participation.

Cancellation Policy: 100% refund prior to 60 days before event; 50% refund 30 days before event; within 30 days entry fee is considered donation with 50% going towards future event entry fee if necessary. Any transaction fees might be deducted from this.

SPECIAL OFFER:

CUSTOM R4R Special Edition 5/6 Animas Reel made by Ross Reels

Risers 4 Rett has partnered with Ross Reels and created a custom R4R Special Edition 5/6 Animas Reel. The reel features a custom platinum design highlighted with a Rett purple drag knob and reel seat. A fully-redesigned frame and spool are highlights of the new Animas. The spool shows off the cutting-edge manufacturing techniques Ross Reels has developed, delivering a design that is incredibly strong and visually stunning. The Animas also re-joins the family by incorporating an ultra-light canvas phenolic handle which gets tackier when wet. A new trouble-free spool release yields zero-maintenance performance, allowing the Animas to be ready for any fresh or saltwater excursion. The frame is accented by a machined silhouette of the Colorado mountains in Ross Reels’ backyard. Its uniquely ported design and structural profile are eye-catching industry firsts. The two-tone drag knob sports an updated aesthetic with a lower profile and increased grip. An improved composite drag system delivers more power in an established Ross design used and loved by more than 80,000 fly anglers the world over.

Risers 4 Rett’s main purpose is to raise funds for the Rett Clinic at the Children's Hospital Colorado. The Clinic requires a minimum of $100,000/year to provide support to Rett families. One of our top goals when establishing this Clinic, was to provide a place where the doctors come to the patients, not the other way around. So Rett Families conveniently stay in one. But besides the convenience, we also wanted to provide a variety, a multidisciplinary Clinic. For one afternoon, we bring together up to 15 sub-specialty providers and therapists to provide a comprehensive evaluation for your child. There are only a handful of Rett Clinics in the US and people from all over the world are coming to this Clinic. For more info click here.

Clean the Dream 2022

7th Annual Clean the Dream

Risers 4 Rett will be partnering again with fly fishing guide Landon Mayer to support the Clean the Dream event on August 27th. Join us to make a difference and clean up the nature we enjoy so much. It’s our way of giving back to the fishing community, so join us. No need to register, just show up.

Time: Saturday, August 27th 2022 from 8 AM to about 2 PM

Location: "The Dream Stream" is the three-mile long Colorado tailwater section of the South Platte River, which is close to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area, about 2 hours 20 minutes from Denver. We’ll start at the Bridge Parking Lot next to County Rd 59, with access to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area.

CAMPING

Some R4R participants will camp at Eleven Mile State Park. We encourage you to get spots #135 or #136 to be close to them.

What’s going to happen:

We’ll start with an 8am breakfast (donuts!). Everybody needs to fill out a waiver and then gets a map. Trash bags & tools will be provided. Volunteers will be split up and directed to different areas. After spending a few hours collecting trash, we’ll meet back at the parking lot. Every person who comes back with a full trash bag will get a raffle ticket. Top notch fishing outdoor companies have donated goodies to support this event and you can get awarded for your volunteer time! This is a perfect family-friendly volunteer event!

Origin and idea behind:

Clean the dream was started by Brandon Kramer & Landon Mayer in 2015, who were bothered by all the trash left behind by outdoor enthusiasts, which is hazardous for animals and unsightly for everyone. They felt the need to make a difference and at the same time provide community support and education on how to protect these resources for the next generation. After they got approval from Colorado Parks & Wildlife, they rallied volunteers to clean up the area around the three-mile long section of the South Platte River, also known as "the Dream Stream”, which is at the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area. In 2019 a total of 765 pounds of trash was collected by 125 volunteers. During COVID-19 there has been a 200% increase in outdoor activity, so more trash is to be expected. This event is even more important now than it was in the past

This event is even more important now!

Time: Saturday, August 21st 2021 from 8 AM to about 2 PM

Location: "The Dream Stream" is the three-mile long Colorado tailwater section of the South Platte River, which is close to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area, about 2 hours 20 minutes from Denver. We’ll start at the Bridge Parking Lot next to County Rd 59, with access to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area.

Please let us know that you are coming by registering - click button below. We ask everyone for a $15 donation to this event.

CAMPING

Additionally, we reserved three camping spots (spot 133, 134, and 135) at Eleven Mile State Park and are happy to have you join us! Each site can accommodate two tents with the option for a trailer. The costs of camping will be handled when you come.

This is a perfect family-friendly and COVID-friendly volunteer event!

Special Covid-19 considerations:

Mask are a requirement and since people will spread out over a vast area social distancing should not be a problem. We’ll expect everyone to keep the mandatory 5 feet distance during breakfast & lunch.

Charity being supported by this event

Risers 4 Rett’s main purpose is to raise funds for the Rett Clinic at the Children's Hospital Colorado.

The Rett Clinic was a well-oiled machine, where doctors, therapists, nutritionists, social workers and nurses gave suggestions on how to improve Tatum’s quality of life.

Clean the Dream

5th Annual Clean the Dream

Clean the Dream flyer.png

Risers 4 Rett will be partnering with fly fishing guide Landon Mayer to support the Clean the Dream event on August 22nd. Join us to make a difference and clean up the nature we enjoy so much.

Now during COVID-19 there has been a 200% increase in outdoor activity, so more trash is to be expected. This event is even more important now!

Time: Saturday, August 22nd 2020 from 8 AM to about 2 PM

Location: "The Dream Stream" is the three-mile long Colorado tailwater section of the South Platte River, which is close to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area, about 2 hours 20 minutes from Denver. We’ll start at the Bridge Parking Lot next to County Rd 59, with access to the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area.

Join the Risers 4 Rett team and clean up the Dream Stream! R4R is organizing camping sites too (indicate in the form if you need one).

For those who are interested in supporting this event, please complete the sign up sheet linked below. Risers 4 Rett has also reserved campsites at Eleven Mile State Park for Friday and Saturday night - only a couple minutes from the Dream Stream. Just let us know if you plan to camp when completing the sign up sheet! If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to Austin Shaw at (c) 303-803-8989 or austinshaw.co@gmail.com.

EVENT IS CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19

As you have potentially anticipated and understand, we must cancel the 2020 Spring Risers 4 Rett charity fly fishing event due to COVID-19.

We still need your help!  As you know, your past donations and ongoing support have made the spring Risers 4 Rett Fly Fishing Tournament a huge success.  The Risers events are the main source of funding that keeps the Rett Clinic at the Children’s Hospital-Colorado operating and helping our Rett girls and families.

This spring is no different. Now, we are hoping we can count your entrance fees as donations. Despite these tough times there are people who still need our help, and donating all or a portion of your entrance fee will go a long way to help the Rett clinic during this crisis. Your donation will be 100% tax deductible.

In addition to your donations, we will raise funds through an online auction the weekend of April 23-25th (details forthcoming). Our hope is that you promote and share the link with many of your friends, family and associates encouraging them to participate.  Even during tough times, let’s all RISE to help others.

Please contact us at info@rmrett.org to work out the confidential details of any full or partial donation or refund.

Stay safe, be diligent, and we look forward to seeing you on the water at future events!
