THE GAME: The Angels, who had only one of their projected everyday players in the lineup, banged out 14 hits on the way to an 8-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. The Angels snapped the Indians’ 10-game unbeaten streak.

PITCHING REPORT: RHP Jered Weaver struggled through 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits. “In the first inning, he looked like he was really searching for some rhythm, but he picked it up and finished strong,” Manager Mike Scioscia said. Weaver had allowed just one earned run in his previous seven innings. … RHP Brandon Lyon pitched a perfect inning. He has retired 12 of 13 batters in his four outings. … The Angels have a 3.44 ERA this spring.

HITTING REPORT: The Angels scored their most runs since a 15-run outburst in their first game of the spring. … C Chris Iannetta singled and walked, improving to 5-for-11 with three walks. … OF Matt Long had four hits, including a double and a triple. He’s 10 for 20. … 3B-2B Grant Green had two hits and was robbed of a third on nice catch by Michael Bourn in center.

DEFENSE REPORT: 2B John McDonald made a spectacular diving stop of a ball to his left and then he threw to second for a force. McDonald has been arguably the most impressive player in camp defensively… LF Shawn O’Malley, who is primarily an infielder, made a sliding catch.
