Twitter Is Going To Add Support For More Language

Twitter is growing very fast. Twitter is currently available only in English and Japanese. To attract more users, twitter will soon be rolling out support for French, Italian, German, and Spanish. These languages are commonly referred to using the acronym FIGS and are often the starting point for services like Twitter when its time for more language support.

Later, Twitter will add support for several other languages. Starting from yesterday, Twitter is offering a simple tool for people with experience in other languages to suggest translations for the Twitter web site.

Twitter is inviting a small group of people to become volunteer translators at first. As more folks volunteer, the translation suggestions should accumulate faster and then there will be enough material to respond by making Twitter available not only in English and Japanese but also French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

Twitter will distribute the translations to Twitter platform developers making it easier for them to offer multiple language support as well.

There are lot more twitter applications available on the net and everyday we can find one new. It is becoming difficult to track all of them on this blog. Yahoo! Tells Your Twitter Persona

Twitter is  one of the hot thing on internet these days. As Twitter becomes more mainstream, everyone is trying their hand at the tweet. So why not Yahoo!. Yahoo! recently launched new Yahoo! Homepage, which was designed to be customized to reflect your true personality. In addition to that, Yahoo!launched a new tool called “Know Your Mojo” that helps you analyze your social mojo.

Just enter your Twitter username and highly scientific pipe thingy goes to work to determine exactly what kind of Twitter persona you possess. You might be a:

• Headliner – You’re the star of the Twitterverse, have tons of followers, and have retweets the likes of Ashton Kutcher and Perez Hilton

Bing Brings Some Real-Time Data Into Search Result From Twitter

Lots of discussion has been happened on Real-Time Search and Result. There are search engines like twitter, scoopler, which provides realtime data to your query. TechCrunch post shows the real time search result for few search engines. Bing, a new search engine from Microsoft, is also in the race to provide real time search result. Today Bing unveiled an initial foray into integrating more real time data into search results, starting with some of the more prominent and prolific Twitterers from a variety of spheres.

This includes Tweets from folks from Bing’s own search technology and business sphere like Danny Sullivan or Kara Swisher as well as those from spheres of more general consumer appeal like Al Gore or Ryan Seacrest.

Starting later today, when you search for these folks names in association with Twitter, you’ll see their latest Tweets come up in real time on Bing’s search results. For example, if you type “Kara Swisher Twitter” or “Kara Swisher Tweets” or even “@karaswisher” as your search query, you’ll see something like the below. (Note this feature will be rolling out gradually over the course of the next few hours so you may not see it right away.)

The answer will include that person’s latest Tweets, along with an easy link to “See more tweets” from that individual.

Bing is not indexing all of Twitter at this time. It index just a small set of prominent and prolific Twitterers and their tweets. It has picked a few thousand people to start, based primarily on their follower count and volume of tweets.

Does Your Twitter Application Name Contain Word “Twitter” ?

Everyone knows that “Twitter” is one of the HOT thing on internet today. It provides you a way to know what great people are doing ? Whether they are CEOs or celebrities you can follow them and get their status updates. Twitter is growing in a very rapid manner.

Lots of new twitter applications and services are rolling out every week. Till now application developer can use “Twitter” word in the name of their twitter service or applications. However it won’t be the case in future. Recent post by Biz Store mentioned about this.

According to Biz, “We have applied to trademark Tweet because it is clearly attached to Twitter from a brand perspective but we have no intention of "going after" the wonderful applications and services that use the word in their name when associated with Twitter. In fact, we encourage the use of the word Tweet. However, if we come across a confusing or damaging project, the recourse to act responsibly to protect both users and our brand is important.”

“Regarding the use of the word Twitter in projects, we are a bit more wary although there are some exceptions here as well. After all, Twitter is the name of our service and our company so the potential for confusion is much higher. When folks ask us about naming their application with "Twitter" we generally respond by suggesting more original branding for their project. This avoids potential confusion down the line.”

In short, you can use "tweet" in your twitter application's name, but you can not use word "Twitter".

385. TweeSpeed : TweeSpeed is a web service giving you the number of tweets sent in the last minute. It shows you the tweets on speedometer. TweeSpeed is based on the public timeline, grab information for the 5 last minutes and calculate an average speed for one minute, so its not 100% accurate however it gives you some idea about how many tweets tweeted in last minute. Speedometer will refresh by itself every minute.

You can use your twitter account to do so, no need to open a new account there. Simply enter your twitter account on the right and start sharing your videos, screen shots, photos & images. Also works with YouTube, Hulu and IgniteCAST. You can also add sound to your picture tweets! Currently it supports for MP3.

388. TwitterTrain : TwitterTrain will actually get you more followers on twitter. Concept is very simple. The 1st thing you will need to do is log in your twitter account, You will then be redirected to a page to click and follow the vip users and the regular users. After following you will be able to join the train! The train reset every 40 users and the vip will never reset and will always remain at the top for maximune followers. Remain active on the site and watch your follower count rise to the top.

Twitter To Introduce “Verified Account” To Stop Impersonations

It is common that people try to impersonate celebrities on various social networking sites including micro-blogging service, Twitter. Impersonation violates Twitter's Terms of Service. In such cases, Twitter suspends, deletes, or transfers control of accounts known to be impersonation.

Twitter has been facing a lawsuit from St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa this week for impersonation. When someone opens a new twitter account, there is no way to validate the identity of a person. And many times we can see that people try to open an account on the name of celebrities.

In order to improve Twitter user experience and clear up confusion beyond simply removing impersonation accounts once alerted, twitter is experimenting with a beta preview of new feature called “Verified Accounts” this summer.

Verified Accounts will feature a special seal.

The experiment will begin with public officials, public agencies, famous artists, athletes, and other well known individuals at risk of impersonation. However twitter will verify more accounts in the future. Current verification will begin only with a small set. Initially, verification will not be tested with businesses.

Twitter also suggests another way to determine authenticity is to check the official web site of the person for a link back to their Twitter account as shows in above image where San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's official site links to his Twitter account.

Twitter Is Planning For TV Series

What do you expect from Twitter, a micro-blogging service that allows you to update your status in 140 characters, if it goes to T.V. show ? Well, its surprisingly true that twitter is planning for T.V. series. According to news from associated press, twitter has teamed with Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners to develop an unscripted series based on the site, which invites 140-character postings from members around the world.

According to variety, concept was created by novelist/screenwriter Amy Ephron, who will exec produce with Reveille's Mark Koops and Howard T.

It will be really exciting to see the magic of “140” on TV.

Reveille productions is the one who gave many hits series which include “Ugly Betty”, “The Office”, “The Tudors” and reality shows like “The Biggest Loser”. Reveille Productions is Los Angeles based television and motion picture studio and production company. In February 2008, Elisabeth Murdoch's (daughter of Rupert Murdoch) Shine Productions has bought Reveille for $125 million from NBC chief Ben Silverman who earlier owned the company.
