Former major leaguer Jim Leyritz, who was acquitted of DUI manslaughter in 2010, has been hired by the Angels’ flagship radio station to co-host a talk show starting in January.

Leyritz will join Jason Brennan for the show that will run Monday through Friday from 1-3 p.m. beginning Jan. 6 on KLAA 830.

Leyritz played 11 seasons in the majors, including part of the 1997 season with the Angels. Leyritz played for World Series champions with the Yankees in 1996 and 1999.

On Dec. 28, 2007, Leyritz was involved in a car accident that killed a 30-year-old woman. Leyritz was fined $500, sentenced to one-year probation and 50 hours of community service. He did not serve jail time.
