VA Mobile is at the forefront of health technology, and delivers essential health care outside the walls of the doctor’s office. For our Veterans, their caregivers and care teams, accessibility to health care and health information is our mission. Through mobile technology, VA care teams are able to provide our patients more access to accurate, vital information – at their fingertips in the comfort of their homes.

VA is dedicated to progress, and through the assortment of mobile health apps available on the VA App Store, managing the well-being of Veterans has never been simpler. With tools like MOVE! Coach (featured in the video above), Veterans can more easily manage and track their own health information and take more control of their health. Apps like Summary of Care and Mobile Blue Button, now in the final stages of field testing, will give Veterans mobile access to their electronic health record. There are also apps to help with mental health care and stress management. For example, PTSD Coach, which helps Veterans learn about PTSD and how to treat it, was the very first mobile app released by VA, and has had five years of proven success.

Through the VA Mobile Health Provider Program, our VA care teams are also now equipped with cutting-edge mobile technology that makes giving care easier. The Provider Program gives VA care teams tools for increased mobile access to patient data and new ways to streamline their workflow.

We also know the importance of communication. That’s why VA is prioritizing apps that help Veterans interact with their care teams and more easily share data. In the future, this will include mobile access to Secure Messaging. This bridge of communication means creating a symbiotic relationship between our Veterans and the people who help them.
