This weekend the Angels are playing games that as close to postseason games as they will get.
The Texas Rangers coming into play tonight trailing by one game for the second wild card spot, with three games to play. Obviously, the Angels could deal them a crushing blow with a victory.
Former Ranger C.J. Wilson gets the ball tonight, but he hasn’t fared well against the Rangers. He’s 1-2 with a 7.92 ERA against Texas.
The Rangers counter with Alexi Ogando.
J.B. Shuck would normally be in the Angels lineup against a righty, but he’s still a little sore from spraining his ankle on Thursday night. Manager Mike Scioscia said he may be available sometime in the season’s final two games.
