Football Week 2 Prep Props: State's Top Performances

Prep Props - Week 1

Prep Props is our weekly look at the best individual statistical performances in the state, with the leaders in rushing yards, passing yards, and receiving yards. Prep Props is published every Monday morning, and for players to be included, coaches must enter game stats by 8 am on Monday.

Coaches, if you do not have access or need assistance entering stats info, please contact us ASAP. Players, parents, and fans, if you do not see your favorite player's stats here, please encourage your team's coach to enter stats info on WSN by the weekly deadline.

Week 2 Rushing Leaders

Manawa wrapped up a weather-delayed game with Green Bay West on Saturday, as the Wolves ran away with a 34-0 victory. Manawa quarterback Tanner Nienhaus completed just two-of-six passes, but did considerable damage on the ground. On 23 carries, Nienhaus ran for 323 yards and three touchdowns, including a 59-yarder to open the scoring in the first quarter.

Week 2 Passing Leaders

Shawano versus Marinette was another game that got bumped to a Saturday finish due to the storms on Friday night. The Shawano offense was as electric as the sky was, putting up 554 yards of offense in the Hawks' 40-14 win. First year starting quarterback Carson Popp had a nearly perfect day, completing 14-of-19 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns, good for a 155.2 passer rating (158.3 is the highest rating possible).

Week 2 Receiving Leaders

As is often the case, the top receiving performance of the week came from the same game as the top passing performance. In Shawano's 40-14 victory over Marinette, junior wideout Ashton Henning hauled in seven passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns, averaging an impressive 31 yards per catch.
