#HRMPride 2019

In the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, the first brick was thrown at the Stonewall Inn as a series of spontaneous demonstrations by members of the LGBTQ community swelled against a police raid. That uprising is widely considered to constitute the most important event leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQ rights in the United States.

The Hudson River Museum proudly stands with the LGBTQ community in our mission to engage, inspire, and connect diverse communities through the power of the arts, sciences, and history. As part of the national commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, we have partnered with community organizations to offer a season of dynamic programming that includes theater performances, film, and storytelling.

We welcome you here in June and all twelve months of the year.
