Pussy Sisster – Pussy Sisster (2010)

With one of the most annoying and shitty looking MySpace pages in the world, today we have Pussy Sisster and their self-titled release. Usually whenever we have a band that has the words pussy, snatch, virginal, and Satan on their name we immediately deduct 10 points of their review. For Pussy Sisster, we did not do this since their name actually embodies everything this band stands for and their rock-star looks.

Playing hard-hitting Rock and Roll, the band does a great job in capturing the sound of bands like Kiss, Poison, Cinderella, Mötley Crue, etc. Pussy Sisster has the right sound and look to make people re-live their glory days listening to the previously mentioned bands while doing their hair (and other activities).

Having been around since 2002, this old-school band hails from Germany and they are ready to Rock the world to its knees. Their self-title album features a healthy combination of power ballads and full-on rocking songs. The band’s sound is not original at all, but they do a great job in capturing the feeling of the previously mentioned bands.

The guitar work is pretty solid, consisting of powerful-yet-catchy riffs and solos. We can’t really ask anything else from a band playing this style of music. The vocals are superb, something that we are usually very critical about in bands like this.
The vocalist has a nice range and sounds particularly good in the ballads presented on this album (i.e “Back Again” and “Melody of Pain”).

The band drummer provides a nice solid foundation to the band’s songs and while doing nothing out of the ordinary he manages to shine, just like the rest of the band. The album production is top notch giving every instrument it’s time on the spotlight and creating a very well balanced overall mix.

Pussy Sisster will surely satisfy your Hard Rock/Metal needs for a few months and will make a great addition to your Poison, Cinderella, Mötley Crue, etc. album collection. We completely recommend you get this release and start remembering the good old days.
