The folks at Beggars Archive this week announced a May 17 release date for The Charlatans’ 2CD Some Friendly: Expanded Edition, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Manchester act’s chart-topping debut. As we reported in February, the set includes a remastered edition of the full album (using the original UK vinyl tracklisting, which omits “The Only One I Know”) and a 19-track bonus disc that includes singles, B-sides and more (see full tracklist here). The band also is performing the album in its entirety at four concerts in the U.K. and Spain next month.
