Causes, Prevention, and Treatment for Spider Veins

I have spider veins on legs and want to get rid of it quickly, any suggestion please?

Spider veins, which are a milder version of varicose veins, are formed in a manner similar to that of varicose veins. What happens is that the one-way valve in these veins stops functioning properly causing the blood to either pool in one place or to flow in a backward direction. When this happens, it puts undue pressure on the veins causing them to swell. The pooled blood stagnates in the swollen veins, leading to them changing their color to either cranberry, purple, or dark blue. These swollen veins, situated close to the skin, then start looking like spider webs. Spider veins are found mostly all over the legs, and mostly in women in the age group of 35 to 75. Once formed, it is difficult to get rid of spider veins. But there are a few things that you can do to make sure that more spider veins are not formed. One of the most important things that you need to do is make a conscious effort not to cross your legs while sitting. Always keep your legs straight. You will need to keep reminding yourself about this each time you sit till it becomes an unconscious habit. Make it a point to exercise your legs on a regular basis. The best form of exercise in this case is walking, jogging, or cycling. This will help tighten your leg muscles and ensure that the blood keeps flowing properly in your veins.

Natural Treatment

Avoid doing anything that puts undue pressure on your legs. This includes wearing high-heeled sandals. You need to avoid wearing high heel shoes; instead wear flat sandals or else sneakers are the best. Avoid standing in one place or in one position for too long. Keep shifting your weight from one leg to the other. This will help in the blood circulation in your legs. One of the factors that lead to spider veins is excessive intake of salt. You will therefore need to cut down on your salt intake as well. All this will help ensure that further spider veins are not formed. Since it is not possible to entirely eliminate the existing spider veins, you can try and lessen their appearance. Before going to sleep every night, apply a mixture of apple cider vinegar and coconut oil. Likewise, you can also apply a mixture made of ten parts witch hazel and one part horse chestnut on the affected areas. Horse chestnut is known to increase blood circulation and strengthen the veins.
