Dear Collectors,

Spring is here, and we have news for you, especially if you loved our edition project debut at last month’s Armory Arts Week.

We have a blossoming new edition, Phenotypic Variation 2, from our beloved Michel Huelin. We’ve been meaning to do an edition project with him ever since we fell in love with his work three years ago at Zurcher’s, one of France’s leading galleries.

Michel’s works, most recently covered in the March issue of Art in America, are exhibited in major museums throughout the world and in some of the most prestigious European collections.

We were honored that he accepted our invitation to create a unique body of work exclusively for his fans at ArtWeLove. In fact, Michel was very inspired by the idea of making his work accessible to a greater number of collectors. Upon meeting for a studio visit in his Switzerland hometown, we understood why:

Like any great artist, Michel wants his art to help people think differently about the world in which we live. His focus? The challenge of our century: The environment and what we're doing (and not doing) about it.

In his studio visit interview, he explains how the issues of technology, genetics, and our unprecedented ability to manipulate our environment define his aesthetic. An artist who has also studied biology, much of his work offers a fascinating glimpse at what our future might look like, and although it might look like it, it is no Pandora. Rather it is a reflection on the possibility of man-made environmental transformation.

Take a moment to discover Phenotypic Variations: Notice how they feel vibrantly attractive and alive. The green and pink blossoms call out to you, or are ready to come at you. You can’t help but ask yourself: Are they real? Look at the detail shot to take it all in. Notice the painterly brushstrokes that compose the landscape -- the hand of the artist. Feel the movement of the paint, the stem-like brushstrokes, as they comes to life through 3D modeling. Now step back. You've just plunged into a virtual world of hybrid vegetation, both real and surreal.

We're timing the release of Phenotypic Variations to coincide with the 40th anniversary celebration of Earth Day on April 22. We've pledged to donate 20 percent of the proceeds from the sale of both Phenotypic Variations to 350.org’s cause.

And, for the fans, Michel has agreed to offer both Phenotypic Variations at even more affordable prices, going from $75 for the 6 2/3 x 10 inches to $1,000 for the 20 x 30 inches.

Yes, you read correctly: $1,000, for both prints at 20 x 30 inches!

Now we can feel even better about collecting the best art of our time.

Happy collecting -- and Happy Earth Day.

About ArtWeLove and 350.org

Founded in 2008, ArtWeLove is one of the fastest growing art websites. Our mission is to democratize access to today's most interesting art scenes. Our edition house, Shop.ArtWeLove, makes fine art available to a greater number of collectors by producing limited edition prints with museum artists whose works are typically out of the general public’s reach. These editions are all unique collaborations, supervised directly by the artists and are paired with a signed certificate of authenticity. They are priced affordably from $50 to $600.

Founded in 2008 as a grassroots movement, 350.org is an international environmental campaign whose goal is to unite a worldwide movement around a single goal: reducing carbon to 350ppm, the level of CO2 that scientists agree is safe for our atmosphere. Donations generated from the sale of the prints will support 350.org's efforts in educating the international community on the global climate crisis and inspiring people around the world to get involved in making changes within their communities.
