Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG) provider Vamosa (news, site) has extended its existing partnership with SchemaLogic (news, site), the makers of MetaPoint metadata management software.
As part of this deal, Vamosa gets to resell and support Schemalogic’s MetaPoint -- software integrated with MS Office and MS SharePoint -- in Europe, extending the breadth of its own ECoG suite of products.
Working Some SharePoint Magic
One of the advantages of this partnership is Schemalogic MetaPoint’s ability to automatically tag and classify documents for findability, compliance and security concerns at the point of their creation and a mechanism that suggests to the user where these documents should be stored in the SharePoint Server.

MetaPoint is said to be particularly applicable in scenarios where SharePoint is used for document management and records management.
What This Means for European Customers
Vamosa is not new to enterprise SharePoint implementations and associated content migrations, content lifecycles, content governance topics and will offer local support for Schemalogic’s European customers and Microsoft Partners.
“As a result of this agreement, Vamosa is now able to offer European customers local support for MetaPoint, which will complement their expertise in effective governance of the content lifecycle,” said Jeff Dirks, president and CEO of SchemaLogic.
Playing in the Enterprise Content Governance (ECoG) field, Vamosa's suite of ECoG products, incorporating MetaPoint, should be of interest to those who are concerned about content and regulatory compliance for purposes of eDiscovery, for example.
